Yes, all bedding and towels are provided.
Extra pillows(various types), blankets, and additional towels are available on request.
9. Should I bring slippers?
Slippers are recommended for comfort in the house.
10. Are river swimming towels available?
Yes, separate towels for river swimming are provided. Located by the patio doors.
11. Are toiletries provided?
Yes. Shampoo, conditioner and shower gel are in all bathrooms.
12. Are yoga mats available?
Yes. Yoga mats are in the Flour Store. Please clean them after use with the eco-spray provided.
13. Can the cat go into bedrooms?
No. Maahes the cat is not allowed in bedrooms.
Please keep your bedroom door closed—he will try to sneak in!
14. Anything to know about the stairs?
Yes. Please take care; light switches are at the top and bottom of each staircase.
15. How do I use the toilet flush buttons? A French Plumbing Quirk!
Press slowly and gently, and ensure the button pops back out to avoid continuous running water.
16. Are candles or incense allowed?
No. Strictly no naked flames unless you have specific prior permission.
17. Should I turn off lights when leaving shared spaces?
Yes. Please turn off lights and close doors when leaving communal areas.
18. Are there raised thresholds I should know about?
Yes, thresholds exist:
In/out of the Salon
To the first-floor rear terrace
To the kitchen patio
19. Are hairdryers available?
Yes, one on each floor. Please return it after use.
20. What should the last person leaving the kitchen do?
Turn off the main lights (fairy lights stay on overnight)
Lock the front door
Note: Theft is extremely rare in this area—no need to worry.
21. Can I borrow books from the Library?
Yes. Please return them to roughly the same section before you leave.
22. Can I take drinks to my room?
Yes. Please return cups and mugs to the kitchen and place them in the dishwasher.
External Areas & Ceramic Studio – Q&A
23. How should I clean up in the Ceramic studio?
Use a damp cloth and bucket of water to minimise dust.
Do not pour dirty water down the outside sink.
24. Can I mix glazes?
No. Please ensure glazes are kept separate.
25. What PPE is available?
Latex gloves, masks, eye protection, aprons, and heat-proof gloves are provided.
26. Should equipment be returned after use?
Yes. Please return all equipment to its original place.
27. Should I turn off studio lights when leaving?
Yes, always.
28. Can I use the washing machine?
Yes. Settings are:
Power/Start → Synthetics → 40°C → 1200 → 0 rapide → Start
There is an honesty box for contributions.
29. Can I flush toilet paper in the studio loo?
No. The pipework cannot handle modern toilet paper.
30. Is there anything to be careful of in the studio toilet?
Yes, there is an unusually high step—please take care.
31. What wildlife might I encounter?
Snakes may be in long grass (harmless; avoid humans).
Ticks the long grass, usually only in the damper seasons, check yourself if you have been in the long grass, we have removal kits available. NB. Not all ticks are infectious.
Bees, wasps, hornets—generally calm; antihistamine cream & tablets in first-aid box.
Mosquitoes—few, as we have Bats that eat them! Best to avoid open windows with lights on.
32. Is the ground outside even?
No. It is uneven, and a rain-water run-off crosses the entrance to the Flour Store event & exhibition space.

Smoke detectors and fire extinguishers are located on each floor.
34. Are candles or incense allowed?
No. Naked flames are prohibited without prior permission.
35. What should I do if a smoke alarm sounds?
Alert fellow guests.

Evacuate via the signposted fire exits.
