My heart, my fridge and my laundry basket.. all have been filled to bursting! And some nice things people have said about us ❤️😊

Throughout April & May, each week The Mill has been filled with a global gathering of writers. And what a joy it has been!

Coming together from as far as China and the USA, Germany, also The Netherlands, France, Spain and the UK. Each week a little writing family has formed, and truly I have learned so much from each of our guests. I am  happy, and humbled, and oh so pleased that The Mill is once again full of life and active in the local community of Saint Georges de Luzencon.

 Our upcoming events including:

CONNECTION

I can truly say the last 8 weeks have been filled with so much connection.

Sitting back and observing conversations every evening with all the different weekly groups of writers from  around the world has been an absolute delight. The feeling of interconnectedness has been a joy to witness.

“This was the perfect place for a writing retreat. It was the right  mix of socialising and alone time to write.”

Thanks Claire - fyi - you can order her recently published book here which she finished editing while here at The Mill. Claire & I met virtually via the gorgeous writing community that is The London Writers salon. Highly recommend you check them out if you are writing and need some daily accountability and know you are not alone on your writing mission!

“I’ve been craving such community and connection and creativity ever since leaving Australia, and I feel so blessed to have had such a wholesome week. My cup is filled!”

CREATIVITY

With all of our writer’s retreats going on over the past few weeks, it’s fair to say The Mill has been absolutely bustling with creative energy.

I felt so relaxed I could actually feel my creative flow returning to me. Upsana, NY

Following on from that incredible creative atmosphere at our writer’s retreats, we are about to welcome artist collective ‘Oveckas’ to The Mill for their first overseas residency. We can’t wait to see what they get up to! Oveckas are made up of these four brilliant artists:

Rob Lowe (aka Supermundane!) - Artist: http://instagram.com/supermundane

Lenka Rayn H. - Artist and Photographer: https://www.instagram.com/lenrayn/

Jeni Johnson - Fine Art, Painting, Ceramics: https://www.instagram.com/jenijohnsonstudio/

COMMUNITY

We’ve got a few private events happening this summer at The Mill in collaboration with our gorgeous warm hearted local community, which we are super excited about!

All our residential workshops/ courses are open to local residents as course and lunches option, without the accommodation.

We figure our “Franglais”, hand gestures, good will & trusty Google Translate and will get us through!

Integrating with our local community is a major part of our ethos here at The Mill, they have made it so easy with their support and open heartedness. The local Brass band Echos D’Avens  even trusted me to host & cook for their AGM back in December. An honour indeed, it was a really fun day. Shout out to my partner in crime that day, my daughter Poppy, I couldn't  have done it without you!!

“You have created something truly amazing here” - Nik Belgium

So many connections made in these past weeks. Friendships - fleeting or forever… a delightful mix of both perhaps? And it's been beautiful to watch it all unfurling.
